Hijacked Thread! Less Heraldry, More Character "Portraits"

Edit - since I have two posts on house mottos and heraldry, I've decided to replace this one. Instead, I will include links to character "portraits". I got alot of my character inspiration off dice rolls, and off a 28mm mini I'd picked up. He's got a ways to go yet (I finished making the custom shield, but it needs to be painted, the sword, the face), but this'll give you an idea of what I thinking. I'm only good enough to entertain myself at this point, but hopefully it'll give you a (albiet small and distorted) mental image to go along with the character.

enjoy.

I've got a stack of minis that need painting that are consistent with some of the PCs, so perhaps you'll see more in this space later.

  1. I thought we rolled per Chevron Inverted?

After we talked over some of the things like motto, I thought for the Charge we could use the Heraldic line Wavy or Dancette, cutting the charge off at the edge of the inverted Chevron, signifying the waves/water rising against the land (i.e. tides).

  2. Go ahead and let the inverted Chevron fill in the entire base, as per p. 111.

We might also steepen the angle a bit, somewhere between Chevron Inverted and Pile?

  3. I think the top one looks kind of awesome. What did you make these with? Anyway I am fine with making something cool looking rather than worrying about what we rolled.

  4. These are just thrown together with illustrator. I put a bit of a gradient on them to give them some color depth. Nothing to fancy. I think I'll go with something like the bottom, you'll see in a few.
